Site visit
"God wants me to be honoured here," such were the words of St. Anne Yvon Nicolazic July 25, 1624. Using this sanctuary, St. Anne invites us to
discover her message and to be guided by herself and her daughter Mary,
to Christ Jesus.
basilica
The Basilica dedicated to Saint Anne is the heart of the sanctuary. It replaced, in the late 19th century, in 1872, the first chapel built by Nicolazic chapel became too small to accommodate the crowd of pilgrims.
It was built in the same field of Bocenno which was found the original statue of St. Anne by Nicolazic.
Neo-Gothic combines the grace of the Renaissance, model houses the tombs of Yvon Nicolazic (1591-1645), the man who saw St. Anne and Pierre de Keriolet the penitent (1602-1660).
A bas-relief on a pillar of the choir, right, points out the spot where Yvon Nicolazic and its neighbors, discovered the statue of Saint Anne March 7, 1625.
